SPIFFY is an acronym for the Student Portfolio Investment Fund of the University of Maine Foundation.  www.umainefoundation.org.  This is a $1,250,000 real-money investment fund completely and autonomously managed by undergraduate students since 1993.  SPIFFY meets weekly to discuss changes to the investment portfolio.  A contingent of students visits the financial district of New York each fall and participates in the Student Investment Fund Symposium at the University of Dayton each spring.
